Milad Tower in Tehran

Introduction

Milad Tower is located on the western outskirts of Tehran. Locally, it is known as Borj-e Milad and sometimes it is referred as Tehran Tower.  The entrance from the road which leads to escalators has few shops. A couple of sculptures are also on display in the reception area of the complex.

The Milad Tower complex has seven conference salons and an exhibition space with an area of 700 m2 and it also features a hotel as well.

Construction

 It is a part of The Tehran International Trade and Convention Centre and it offers beautiful view of the surrounding areas. Snowy peaks of Alborz mountain range are visible from Milad Tower. A gallery between the two sections of the conference centre had a statue of Ferdowsi and game of chess beside it. 
The construction of this project started in 1997, The tower took almost 11 years to complete, finished in 2008. Officially, it was opened in 2009 and it offers five-star hotel, a convention centre, a world trade centre, and an IT park.

The Milad Tower Complex

This complex was created in order to meet the business needs of the modern and ever growing world.  Water fountain are installed to enhance the beauty of the surroundings. Historically, water fountains are part of the Persian architect and they had been used in the gardens and palaces alike.
When it was finished in 2008, it was the sixth tallest tower in the world. 
The tower is 435 m (1,427 ft) tall from base to the tip of the antenna. There is still a confusion when this tower was completed some sources say in 2007 but other agree with 2008.

Observation Deck

The lobby structure consists of six floors, first three floors are being used as trade shops, restaurants and exhibition centers. There were few models of the historical towers of Iran. For example, the Minar Jonban. The Kabooter Khane (Pigeon Tower) of Yazd and it is 20m in height, Khosrogerd Minaret in Sabzevar is a Seljuk tower and it is 30m tall. 
Flags from countries around the world displayed inside the observation deck. The observation deck is protected with the wires and cables. The head of the tower is a steel structure weighing about 25,000 tonnes and consisting of 12 floors.
